See ya later February.

Today was a really good day. Mike let me sleep in until 9 and got me a bowl of cheerios. Then he trained for his marathon while I cleaned my car and hung out with Lucy. They made me dinner and I opened presents, Lucy helped me blow out my candles and consumed her piece of ice cream cake in three seconds. After cake we went to Chili's so I could order my first beer. I wanted Sam Adams on tap and they were miraculously out so I had to order a bud. It was huge so after three sips, Mike drank it. I am not a big drinker, so 21 really isn't a big deal at all. I'm just glad I got to spend it with Mike and Lucy. I think the reason why all my other birthdays before have sucked is because I had such high expectations for them. Once I gave up on celebrating, I appreciated it a lot more.

Portrait's Take Two.

Today was our second attempt at getting some good shots of Lucy and us together as a family. I am not a big fan of Sears, I think they are rather cheesey but hiring a photographer is more expensive. I wish I could just take our portraits myself, because I know my own style, but Sears gives us packages. We ordered tons of wallets and 5x7's for everyone. I posted some of them below.

Mike is training for a marathon on May 30 in Idaho. I'm excited for our first road trip with two kids. It's a Boston marathon qualifier, so I'll be impressed if he can finish it.

My birthday is tomorrow...ugh...I just want to avoid it all together. I'll buy myself a beer and watch Dexter.

Start me up.

I must say, this is the first day I've been actually relaxed in while. Maybe it's the crazy pills starting to kick in or maybe it's the fact that I am enjoying a cup of peppermint tea in my favorite mug with the windows open. Either way, I am glad I feel this way. I feel like things are coming together.

All my laundry is done, my house is consistently clean and my associates degree is almost complete. I can see the finish line right within my reach. I have to work ahead in my classes so I am not handing in my finals in between contractions. But I did it before when I was pregnant with Lucy, now I'll just have to work during her nap times.

The weather is actually better in Montana right now than Rhode Island. It always seems like Rhode Island is dreary. It reminds me of a cliche image of London; everyone in black with black umbrellas, rushing. I'd still trade in the wild west any day though.

Life is good!

It is good for reasons such as :my precious Nikon is back in my possession and working, it is getting darker later and warming up, I purchased a photo editing program and didn't have to renew my license because it's not expired until 2012.

Also...as of February 19, we officially have 4 years left as a government owned family! We started saving for Disneyland in two years too. It's just hard to plan around unknown deployments, but there is no harm in saving. Lucy has put four dollars into her piggy bank (which is actually a ceramic butterfly) in the past week, so she can save up for when she visits the Princesses.

We have been hooked to Dexter lately. We watched two seasons in a week. It's pretty addictive. We are waiting on season three, so we can resume with our lack of physical activity as couch potatoes. I did make Lucy a hair bow hanger for the bathroom. It cost ten bucks!

Here are some non-cell phone pictures! Alas!

blahh

We had an interesting night as usual last night. Lucy started getting really sick around 3 in the afternoon and was burning up but of course our only baby thermometer was broken. She sat on the couch with Da like she always does when she's sick but was up all night. Finally I couldn't take it anymore and drove to Walgreens at 3 in the morning to get a thermometer, motrin and pedialyte. Her temperature was 103.4 but it's been steadily going down. I think it's a mix of her toofies and day care the other day.

Mike is driving cody to Billings so he can finally see his new baby for the first time in Indiana and the rest of his fam. So it's just been me and Lucy, in our pajamas, eating pizza. I also did a little project for Jude's room that cost me zero dollars! The nursery is almost finished, the crib should be here any day now.
